Scott is a rare find among Austin real estate agents. With expertise in both real estate and
design, he works hard to “pair places with their people,” believing that people and their living
spaces are intertwined; that a house becomes a home because its “personality” matches its
owners.
Originally from Chicago, Scott has lived on three continents and is a self-proclaimed “nerd.” He
earned his Bachelor’s degrees in Architecture and Liberal Arts from the University of Miami, FL,
studied Sanskrit, Bengali, and modern Indian art history in India, and then went on to take a
Master’s degree in Sanskrit and Indology (the ethnohistory of India) from the University of
London’s School of Oriental and African Studies. Around the turn of the century, he moved to
Austin to further his studies at the University of Texas, where he worked as an assistant
instructor and graduate research associate and, while still a graduate student, obtained his
Texas real estate license in 2006.
During his time in real estate, Scott has been actively engaged in the Austin community. His
passion for architecture led him to co-create the Architecture @ the Umlauf lecture series with
Carla Umlauf, which ran from 2007 to 2011, and in 2017, he reinvented that series as Articulture
ArchiTalks in the event garden at Articulture Designs. As an Allied Member of Austin’s chapter
of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) since 2014, he serves on the Urban Design
Committee as an advocate for sustainability and context-sensitive, design-driven densification in
central Austin’s housing market and as the Chair Elect of the 2021 Homes Tour Committee. He
also works on the Preservation Austin Homes Tour and is Director of the Friends of Nightwing
Plaza, as well as a public advisor on the Southshore Redevelopment Project. In his free time,
he enjoys P90X and yoga, hiking Austin’s many trails, learning to cook on an electric stove
without ruining his pans, slowly building a collection of contemporary non-Western painting, and
continuing his studies of dead and unusual languages. He’s also a huge fan of The Voice, The
Expanse, stand-up comedy, and novels by Salman Rushdie.
Scott is detail-oriented, deeply knowledgeable, patient, conscientious, and kind. His background
as a teacher makes him well suited for anyone seeking clear guidance in the real estate
negotiation process. He sincerely believes the right home exists for everyone, and clients
describe him as hardworking and tireless, finding buyers just what they need and helping sellers
put their home’s best face forward.
“I have an intuition for matching clients with just the right place and an innate ability to guide
them in making good decisions in the buying or selling process.”
Scott’s success as a Realtor includes buying and selling homes in central Austin, as well as
Lakeway, Cat Mountain and Allandale. Scott loves Austin because, “As one of the fastest
growing and developing cities in the United States, it sizzles with creativity and enterprise, from
innovative housing and design to restaurants to tech. I love the energy and personalities that
make the city go.”
